2024 Rossmoor Scholarship Foundation Award Ceremony

The 57th Awards Ceremony for the 2024 Rossmoor Scholarship Foundation took place on Sunday, May 26 at the Rossmoor Creekside Event Center. That event recognized and celebrated the achievements of 84 remarkable students and the amazing support provided by family and friends.

Thanks to everyone who attended the Giving Tree Club fundraiser for the Rossmoor Scholarship Foundation on Saturday May 11th in Peacock Plaza.

They were entertained by the live R&B band called Old Soul featuring Ines Vargas Fraenkel on lead vocals, Jessie Ortiz on keys, Michaelle Goerlitz on drums, Robin Nzingah Smith on sax/flute, Henry Mobley on bass, and Chris Cooper on guitar.

Since its inception in 1965, The Rossmoor Scholarship Fund has awarded over $4 million to nearly 2,000 students. In 2023, 66 students received awards of $3,500 to $11,000, and nearly all scholarship recipients are first generation college students.

The Rossmoor Scholarship Foundation appreciates the continued support of the Giving Tree Club and all our Rossmoor supporters.

After carefully reviewing 109 Rossmoor Scholarship Foundation (RSF) applications from six local high schools and two community colleges, RSF trustees interviewed applicants in late February. As expected, trustees encountered some remarkable stories. Some made them smile, some made them gasp, and a few brought tears.  The Rossmoor News shares those stories!
