Diablo Valley College
Approximately forty percent of DVC’s student body identifies as belonging to a minority group underrepresented in the California college and university systems. Not only does DVC have a large population of non-traditional students (age 25 or older), but this community college also leads the state in transfers to UC Berkeley, UC Davis and UC Merced. In 2021-22, 2,334 DVC students transferred to four-year institutions, and of those, 1,954 enrolled at California colleges and universities.
Los Medanos College
Of the more than 8,000 students at Los Medonos College, forty-two percent are Hispanic/Latino, twenty percent are White, eleven percent are Asian, eleven percent are African American, and seven percent represent two or more races. Los Medanos has an open enrollment admission policy, which provides educational opportunities for high academic level performing students as well as students of all learning levels and skills and it fully articulates classes and programs with Diablo Valley College and Contra Costa College.
